2008 WSOP SCHEDULE

The first thing anyone will notice about the newly revamped WSOP Schedule is the addition of many more $10,000 events. All the ‘World Championship’ events in each game have all been made $10,000 events. The fields will be small, but very tough in these events that only the very top of the poker food chain can afford.

Satellites Schedule

All Mega and Single-Table Satellites will begin on May 28th, 2008

• Mega Satellite Schedule:
  $330 Mega Satellites Monday - Thursday at 3 PM.
  $550 Mega Satellites Friday - Sunday at 3 PM.
  $1060 Mega Satellites Daily at 9 PM.
• Mega Satellite Days July 2 - 5:
  $330 Mega Satellites at 6 PM.
  $550 Buy-In Mega Satellites at 10 AM and 4 PM.
  $1060 Buy-In Mega Satellites at 1 PM and 9 PM.
• Turbo Mega Satellite July 6:
  $1060 Turbo Mega Satellite at 8AM
• $50k H.O.R.S.E. Mega Satellite Days May 31, June 1, 16, 20, and 21:
  $2250 Mega Satellites at 5 PM

Reflecting the game of choice these days, No Limit Hold Em is the most heavily represented game on this year’s WSOP schedule, with 25 of the 55 events being No Limit Hold em. Due to the popularity of the opening weekend $1,500 No Limit Hold Em tournament, that event this year (Event #2) will be lengthened to four days of play, allowing the massive field to play down to a winner at a manageable pace.

The $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. event, quickly becoming the most prestigious event among poker’s top players, will span 5 days, and take place beginning June 25th. New to the WSOP 2008 Schedule are more of the ‘Mixed Hold em’ events, with three to be played, including a $10,000 World Championship event, scheduled for June 4th.

Toward the end of the WSOP schedule, you have the ever popular celebrity ‘Ante Up for Africa’ tournament, where some of Hollywood’s biggest stars come out to play poker for a good cause. Ante Up for Africa is scheduled for July 2nd.

Right on the heels of Ante Up for Africa is the granddaddy of them all – the Main Event. The Main event will feature four ‘day ones’ of play that will coincide with the fourth of July holiday weekend, beginning on Thursday, July 3rd.
