[user101598] • Tase 21: 300,000-600,000, 75,000 ante
Brian Rast - 6th Place
Brian Rast - 6th Place

Hand #51: Brian Rast had the button, and Sam Trickett opened to 1.2 million from under the gun. Rast called, and Antonio Esfandiari called from the big blind. The flop fell {4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, Esfandiari checked, and Trickett fired 1.8 million. Rast called, Esfandiari folded, and the turn brought the {10-Spades}. Trickett tanked, then led out for 3.8 million. Rast called.

The {3-Spades} completed the board, and Trickett tanked before moving all in for effectively 8.275 million. Rast snapped it off, tabling {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} for a flopped flush, but Trickett turned over {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} for quad threes!

In a stunning turn of events, Rast was eliminated in sixth place, earning him $1,621,333. Trickett is now our chip leader with 51 million chips.

Trickett Amongst the Elite

[user68268] • Tase 20: 250,000-500,000, 50,000 ante

By making the money in this event, Sam Trickett earned another seven-figure tournament score, giving him four in his career. The only other players with four or more seven-figure scores are Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi, Phil Ivey and Gus Hansen. This puts Trickett in quite the company of players as one of the elite. What's so crazy about Trickett is that he's still so young at just 25 years of age and has plenty of poker ahead of him.

Trickett is also the only player in poker history with three million dollar scores in the same year, which he accomplished in 2011. With the more than $1.6 million Trickett has already locked up in this event, his all-time live tournament winnings have eclipsed $7.9 million. It's safe to say, Trickett is officially playing with the big boys.

Trickett Folds Nines To Einhorn's Kings

[user68268] • Tase 21: 300,000-600,000, 75,000 ante

Hand #49: David Einhorn started this hand with the button. Sam Trickett raised to 1.2 million from the cutoff seat and action folded to Brian Rast in the big blind. He put in a reraise to 2.875 million. Trickett folded and Rast won the pot.

Hand #50: Guy Laliberté had the button. Sam Trickett kept up his aggression with a raise to 1.2 million from the hijack seat. David Einhorn announced a reraise to three million and slid out the chips. Action folded back to Trickett. Trickett looked at Einhorn, then at Einhorn's stack. He then thought while doing some shuffling of his chips. After a minute, Trickett folded the {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}. Einhorn showed the {K-Hearts}{K-Spades} and Trickett dodged one there.

Tabling Cards

[user101598] • Tase 21: 300,000-600,000, 75,000 ante

Hand #46: Phil Hellmuth had the button. David Einhorn opened to 1.2 million from under the gun, and took down the blinds and antes.

Hand #47: Antonio Esfandiari started the hand with the button. Phil Hellmuth opened to 1.6 million from the cutoff, Esfandiari three-bet to 3.35 million, and the blinds released. Hellmuth folded {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs} face up, and Esfandiari showed {9-Clubs}{2-Hearts}.

Hand #48: Sam Trickett held the button, and opened to 1.2 million when the action folded to him. Guy Laliberté defended his big blind, and the dealer fanned {9-Spades}{4-Spades}{4-Clubs}. Both players checked. The turn was the {2-Hearts}, and Laliberté led for 1.5 million. Trickett released, and Laliberté tabled {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} then raked in the pot.
