Event 57: $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em - Six-Handed

Timoshenko Takes One

Yevgeniy Timoshenko opened to 2,100 from the cutoff and received a call from the player in the big blind.

A {9-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop was shown to the two players and Timoshenko's opponent checked. Timoshenko put out a c-bet of 2,700 and his opponent called. The {3-Clubs} paired the board on the turn and it was checked to Timoshenko again. This time the magic number was 6,200 and the price was too high for Timoshenko's opponent. The fold awarded Timoshenko the pot and his stack is currently around 65,000.

Kuzmin Cut Short

Emil Patel opened to 2,000 from under the gun, three players called, and Alexander Kuzmin three-bet to 6,000 from the big blind, leaving less than 10,000 behind. Patel four-bet jammed for around 60,000, and the two callers mucked.

The {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop gave Kuzmin a pair of jacks, but the {k-Diamonds} on the turn gave Patel a diamond-flush, and an uneatable hand. The {k-Spades} completed the board, and Kuzmin was eliminated.

Full House Becomes Quads For Lehmanski

We found Maximilian Lehmanski who finished sixth place earlier this summer in Event 31: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em engaged in a hand with an opponent.

The board read {3-Spades}{K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} and Lehmanski's opponent moved all in for about 21,000. Lehmanski snapped with {K-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for kings full of treys and his opponent stood up and threw a drawing dead {A-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} on the table. Lehmanski's opponent was already past the rail when the dealer put down the {K-Spades} on the river, giving Lehmanski quad kings to finish out the hand.

Lehmanski is currently sitting on a stack of about 98,000.

Reynolds Gets Rivered

On a {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop William Reynolds just got his opponent all in for around 16,000 chips. Reynolds was in great shape and showed {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}. His opponent had {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} and needed a king to survive.

A couple of tables over a loud player shouted something along the lines of, "And I was drawing dead to a king! Can you believe that!".

The same scenario was going down on this table, and the turn was the {A-Spades}. The river brought out the {K-Clubs} and Reynolds' jaw dropped. He just got rivered in the way the player on the other table survived, but luckily he was still smiling a little.

This table was already crazy as we just missed a big pot in which a player called on the river with quads. The other player showed a straight, but not the possible straight flush that was out there. The players at the table were baffled twice in a short period of time, but all still having fun.

Cada Jams Against Chiu

We found Joe Cada and David Chiu looking down at a board that read {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. With about 9,000 in the pot, Cada heaved a heavy sigh and stacked his remaining chips, moving all in.

Chiu flicked his cards into the muck the moment Cada's chips hit the felt and Cada was awarded the pot. The WSOP Main Event champion is currently sitting on 28,000.

Shorr Goes in the Tank

When we reached the table, the board read {2-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}. Shaun Deeb and another opponent checked to Shannon Shorr, who bet 7,000. The third player released, and Deeb tanked before check-raising to 17,000. Shorr tank-called.

The turn was the {q-Clubs}, and Deeb moved all in for effectively 47,000. Shorr slipped into the tank, silently riffling chips with one hand while protecting his cards with another. He eventually took his sunglasses off and took his headphones out of his ears, and began studying Deeb.

At about the three-minute mark, Deeb reached for his Corona, and took a small sip. He put the beer back, and continued to sit silently. Eventually, Shorr folded, and Deeb quickly mucked the winner.

Mercier and Voulgaris Clash Again

We caught up to find the board reading {5-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades}{10-Spades} and Jason Mercier announce that he was all in. Mercier had Haralabos Voulgaris covered in chips and Voulgaris was looking to call off his remaining 42,000.

Voulgaris aggressively counted out his chips and stacked and re-stacked them while thinking over his decision. Mercier, on the other hand, calmly sat at the other end of the table, patiently waiting for Voulgaris' decision.

In the end, Voulgaris moved his cards into the muck and Mercier was awarded a pot that brings his already large stack up to 190,000.
