Lawson and Bach Rumble Again

When we arrived at Ted Lawson and David Bach's table, they were again involved in a hand together. This time there was already a sizable pot building when we watched from the turn on a {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} board. Lawson checked here and Bach led for 1,400. Lawson then raised it up to 4,400 and Bach thought long and hard before making the call.

On the {5-Hearts} river, Lawson led for 5,000 and it didn't take Bach long to fold his cards, leaving himself with around 2,000 in chips on the felt, along with two lammers. At this point Lawson tabled his {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{10-Spades} and said to Bach, "At least i show you my hands."

Davis Dusted

Raymond Davis has played his last hand here in Event 58, with the action going down as follows. Folded to the player in the cutoff, he raised it up 550. Davis then three-bet to 1,550 on the button and it was on to the big blind. This player then four-bet the pot and the cutoff called all in, along with Davis who also committed the last of his chips.

Davis: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}
Cutoff: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts}
Big Blind: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{5-Spades}

When the {8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} board ran out, Davis was sent home, while his two opponents chopped up the pot.

Yu, Bach and Lawson Play a Hand

• Tase 3: 75-150, 0 ante

David Bach, Ben Yu and and Ted Lawson all have plenty of experience at the World Series of Poker, with 58 WSOP cashes between them. We recently caught the action in a hand that featured all three of these players.

The hand started with the play folding around to Bach in middle position. He flicked out enough to limp and then Yu raised it to 600 from the small blind. Lawson was in the big blind and called, while Bach also continued on with the fun.

On the {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{k-Spades} flop, Yu and Lawson checked and then Bach led for 1,800. Yu then moved all in for his last 1,775 and it was on to Lawson, who folded.

Yu: {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
Bach: {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{3-Spades}

Yu was in front at this point and it stayed that way as the {10-Spades} turn and the {5-Diamonds} river completed the board. With that, Yu has 5,400 in chips and one lammer (8,400 total) and Bach has 8,800 out in front of him, with no lammers to be seen.

Alioto Loses a Few

Dario Alioto has just rumbled with a player at his table, losing a fair chunk of his chips in the process. The hand in question started when the under the gun player raised to 150 preflop. Alioto then three-bet to 525 from the small blind and it was back on the under the gun player. He then four-bet shoved his short stack and Alioto made the call.

Alioto: {a-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Spades}{a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}

The {5-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{8-Spades} board was no good for Alioto, with his opponent raking in all the chips with a scooped pot, while Alioto took a hit to his stack. Despite losing that hand, Alioto still has slightly more than he started the day, sitting with 3,300 in chips on the felt and two lammers.
