Failla Finds A Big Double Up

[user145752]

Action started with a player in early position raising to 2,600. Michael Souza was in middle position, and he made it 6,000 to go. Will "The Thrill" Failla called out of the big blind, and the original raiser made the call too. The flop came down {4-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}, and all three players checked. The turn cane the {k-Diamonds}, and the fireworks started.

The original raiser checked, as did Souza, and Failla fired out 7,000. The first player folded, but Michael Souza responded by moving all in. Failla instantly called, and Souza was drawing dead.

Souza: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Failla: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

The meaningless river was the {2-Clubs}, and Failla collected the big double up to 93,000, while Souza was crippled to 6,000.

Cheong Sends Chips To Soulier

[user145752]

Fabrice Soulier made it 2,600 in early position, and Jospeh Cheong was the only caller out of the big blind. The flop came down {2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{8-Hearts}, and Cheong check called a bet of 3,100 from Soulier. Both players checked when the {j-Hearts} hit the turn, and the dealer peeled the {4-Diamonds} off on the river. Cheong tossed out a bet of 7,300, and Soulier made the call.

Cheong rolled over {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}, but it was no good, as Soulier showed down {a-Spades}{j-Clubs} for a better jack. Soulier is back up to 47,000 after that hand, while Cheong is down to his starting stack of 30,000.

Somerville Sent Packing

[user145752]

Matt Sexton's favorite player Jason Somerville got all his chips in preflop holding {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}, but he ran into the {a-Hearts}{a-Spades} of Josh Tieman. Somerville flopped a flush draw, but couldn't hit it, as the board ran down {3-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{10-Spades}. Tieman is up to 37,000 after the hand, while Somerville heads out to get ready for the main event.

Allen Bari was recently seen heading for the exits. We didn't catch the hand that did him in. We also missed how 2011 Main Event Champion Pius Heinz busted, but Amanda Musumeci claimed the bounty on twitter.

Grospellier Gets His Double Up

[user145752]

When we got to Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier's table, he had already shoved all in on a board reading {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{q-Spades}{3-Diamonds}. There was about 23,000 in the middle, and ElkY's bet was for just over 26,000. His opponent spent about 30 seconds in the tank before sliding in the call, and Grospellier rolled over {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for the stone cold nuts. His opponent mucked, and Grospellier took the big pot to up his stack to 77,000.
